New clothing printer set to open in Lawrence
Clothing companies specifically are an important area of manufacturing in the fight to bring jobs back to the U.S. This effort, however, might also require the domestic strengthening of companies that do related services for their customers. Are there any new developments coming to the Hoosier state that might contribute to this?
Inside Indiana Business has a press release denoting the expansion of a shirt printing company called Little Raymond's Print Shop (also known as ooShirts) into the Indiana area three years from now.
The company is based in Berkeley, but it's planning to open up a new location and bring with it more than 100 jobs in the long run, as well as a tax rebate worth hundreds of thousands of dollars.
This company seems to have grown tremendously since it was founded eight years ago. The release quoted Mike Pence, Indiana's governor, who once again described the virtues of the state when it comes to growing businesses. Although this may be a plan for the long run, it's still worth noticing as it happens.
"With our fiscal responsibility, entrepreneurial companies like ooShirts can plan their activities with confidence in the Hoosier State, allowing them to mitigate the concerns of unpredictable economic conditions," he said.
It's an important point, since the practice of importing clothes from foreign factories has drawn some detractors who question its safety.
